The DivaCup™ is very sanitary, comfortable, reliable and convenient. It holds one full ounce (30 ml). Since the entire cycle is an average of 3-4 ounces (90-120 ml), most women find that the cup is not even half full after 12 hours.
The vagina is continually self-cleansing, washing away dead cells and bacteria. Tampons absorb the natural fluids that we need to keep the vagina clean and moist. The DivaCup™ is non-absorbent and simply collects the menstrual flow, leaving the natural moisture level in the vagina undisturbed.
Depending on your flow empty the cup 2-3 times per 24 hour day, wash and reinsert. It can be worn up to 12 hours, even overnight. The DivaCup™ is ideal for all activities including swimming, camping, backpacking, and travelling. It is suitable for all menstruating women of all ages.

Suggested Use
Wash your hands well with warm water and soap. While sitting or standing in a comfortable position, insert your DivaCup™ according to the intructions on the package.
Ingredients
The DivaCup™ is made of a high quality soft medical grade silicone that starts as a liquid, and then the molecules are bound together (or vulcanized) with very high heat to form a solid stable piece of silicone (similar to the feel of soft rubber). The DivaCup™ is also cured after production in an oven at a very high temperature to make sure all the molecules are bound and chain linked together. The material has gone through substantial testing to make sure none of the molecules will break away from the product. Since the end product is a solid rubber-like material, there is no possible way for anything to leak into the body (no leaching).
This form of silicone is 100% hypoallergenic, has antibacterial properties, is latex-free and odorless. It has been used safely in medical applications for over 50 years in products such as medical tubing, baby bottle nipples, breast pumps, contact lenses and even permanent medical internal body parts such as heart valves and joint replacements. It is also approved by the FDA (United States) and Health Canada.

I had some difficulty inserting this at first, but there are many online communities with advice and support. I like it because it is healthier for you. It feels awesome to know I am not contributing to landfills. Wysi Wipes go great with this to clean it during the day or to just wipe it out until you can completely clean it with soap.

This product is fabulous. No need to carry around pads and tampons. I'm very careful with insertion of product because I have long nails but I love it. This is a very green product as it cuts down on paper waste as well.

This is a great product. It was strongly recommended by some friends, and now I pass on that recommendation. Beyond the economic and ecological benefits, it simply works like it's supposed to. It took a little time to get used to, but after my first cycle, I was a pro. Tampax won't be getting my money anymore.

I wanted to come back and review this again because I STILL love it SO MUCH! I am still using it instead of tampons,and I swear my periods are less painful with this somehow... After 2 months of use it has paid for itself and I will never buy tampons again! :> Woo hoo!

Definitely the best thing ever. No more bleach and chemicals seeping into me from tampons. Very easy to use after a few tries.

I love my diva! It's wonderful not having to worry about purchasing boxes of tampons or pads every month. Plus no chemicals. I've been using one of these for the past few years, and it has paid for itself many times over in savings. It's really easy to use after the first try or two.
