Common Sense Farm Ingredients
There's been an increased awareness regarding the importance of what we eat (what goes in us). Much less has been stressed about the importance of what does on us and into us through our skin. It's equally important - if not more important - to be concerned about what goes into us through our skin. The human body's digestive system is equipped to deal with certain degrees of toxins and impurities. There isn't the same defense system for impurities that enter through the skin. As a result, Common Sense Farm takes serious which ingredients they select for use in their products. You won't find any synthetic preservatives, fragrances or colors in any Common Sense Farm products. This isn't a claim that very many manufacturers can make.

Common Sense Farm's goal is to use what is safe and wholesome. In addition, Common Sense is always looking for new and better ingredients. However, most raw materials used for these types of products require some degree of processing. Some of that processing is as simple as filtering. Other processes are not quite as simple. Until Common Sense Farm knows of safer and better raw materials that require less and simpler processing, they will use what they know to be best. They are just trying to use common sense. If someone wants to make common their understanding of a better method or way that is practical and free of the marketing falsehood that riddles so many of the claims from the natural skincare industry, Common Sense Farm will always welcome that input.

About Common Sense Farm

The Common Sense Farm is a real farm with a special barn. Driving past the farm, you may not know anything different is happening there. Yet inside this old barn built in the 1920's is a special place where they formulate and manufacture all the products from Common Sense Farm. The farm sat idle for many years. The barn weathered considerably during a 25 year period of inactivity. Today, the farm is no longer inactive. The fields have slowly been reclaimed as organic farmland and the barn has been restored as unique place for manufacturing.

This salve is lovely--I have told several of my friends and family about it. It seems to heal at a deeper level than just an ordinary salve--almost at an energetic level.

I apply this salve several times a day to assist in healing severe fire ant bites on my legs and feet. I like that there is no noticeable odor and it's very smooth, creamy and easy to use.

I love the balm of Gilead. The place I had been getting it no longer stocked it. I looked so many places before finding it here. It works great on dry hands, sun burns, small scrapes and I have rabbits and the can scratch. When they do I put this on immediately and it heals up with no issues with usually one application. It prevents redness, infection and swelling of the scratches. I love it.

I am obese and as many obese people I have candidiasis at times in skin folds. I used an antibiotic/steriod cream that my doctor prescribed which cleared up the infection but it would melt and burn good skin. Another rx without the steriod was totally ineffective. Balm of Gilead was a last straw and it works! It's slower than the abx/steriod cream but it heals it deeper. Of interest, I was reading about Benedict Arnold. It turns out that before being a traitor, he was a chemist apprentice and one of the ointments he was taught to make is Balm of Gilead!
