A note from Jessica, the developer of California Baby: Welcome to the world of aromatherapy! I use essential oils with my children almost daily, starting at age 6 months; I have noticed that they get sick less often and recover from illnesses faster. All California Baby blends are developed in consultation with an aromatherapist; we use oils that are known for their safety and efficacy. If you're new to aromatherapy, with a little practice you will find that essential oils are versatile, easy to use, and indispensable! Our pure, aromatherapy quality essential oils do not contain synthetic additives; they are tested for purity.

With my husband running business operations, California Baby® continues to innovate and grow. We are proud that California Baby® is the only complete natural baby line to make the jump from a niche market to a nationally recognized brand that is sold in top retail stores like Whole Foods, Babies R’ Us and Target. Heading development, I work with leading raw material suppliers to create and pioneer safe, new and improved green ingredients. True to our toxin-free, sustainability-focused roots, we steer clear of Diethanolamine (DEA), sulfates, dyes, numbing agents, and ingredients that can trigger allergies in young ones or chemically sensitive adults, including synthetic fragrances, dairy, soy, peanuts and gluten. Our strict standards ensure that all of our products are CA Prop 65 compliant, which means they contain no carcinogens such as 1-4 Dioxane or phthalates. Our essential oils are third party tested for purity.

As a mother of two, I completely relate to the anxiety that accompanies the steady stream of toxic and environmental crises in the news -- phthalates in fragrances and sippy cups, arsenic in talcum powder, pharmaceuticals in our water. That is why I’ve been committed to sustainable business practices from the get-go, using sustainable and biodegradable ingredients and recyclable packaging for our products. Eager to take green to the extreme, California Baby is converting all aspects of business and manufacturing processes to earth-first, zero waste, solar power and recyclable systems.
 
Our new, eco-friendly California Baby showroom, featuring such sustainable materials as cork flooring and zero or low VOC paint, serves as a learning laboratory to the public, teaching parents and others how to embrace the earth-first, all-natural lifestyle I’ve cultivated for over 20 years—encouraging others to learn from my experience.

Our efforts to protect future generations extend beyond our Los Angeles facilities. An active member of the Organic Trade Association, California Baby serves on a task force committee to recommend organic standards in the cosmetics industry. We also collaborate with leading groups and companies to initiate congressional action that will establish federal legislation demanding safe cosmetics. We believe that our mission extends far beyond creating products that are safe for children and healthy for the environment. We strive to educate and enlighten parents to the simple principles of natural living, adhering always to our founding philosophy: what’s good for the environment is good for families.
