More About Purple Frog
Just two guys, with two health conscious wives and the inspiration to add a little bit of wellness to the world…one drop of essential oil goodness at a time! As passionate entrepreneurs and dedicated to all things clean living, they decided to combine their professional skills and first establish a company focus built on conscious entrepreneurism, a business mantra inspired by the book from Toms Shoes founder Blake Mycoski titled, “Start Something That Matters.” With the primary goal in mind to create a line of products that matter and to redistribute success back into environmentally focus initiatives through 1% for the Planet, the foundation was laid.
That was the easy part, now what? With the greater goal in mind, they evaluated various health concerns and were driven to create the solution, one that is sustainable and scalable. The idea almost instantly hit them…or rather bit them. While canoeing in Waterton National Park in Alberta Canada, Andrew and his dogs encountered a swarm of angry mosquitoes. As a conscious health advocate against chemical based sunscreens and insect repellents, he was disappointed in the protection a natural “spray” repellent provided. There must be a better method. Enter the patch concept. With the ability to use undiluted, 100% active ingredients and place virtually anywhere, specifically on his dog’s collars without the need to reapply over and over, they had found the answer. The power of the patch was born.
Now it needed an image. Something that symbolized who and what the company represented. Introducing the Purple Frog. No story here, he’s simply a symbol of all things holistic, all things versatile and all things environmentally sensitive. By adding the super power of therapeutic plant oils, there is absolutely no place that the protection and aromatherapeutic stimulus a Purple Frog patch won’t reach. Take a deep breath, the P-Frog is here! We believe in products that matter. Did you know that frogs actually rely on their skin to breathe underwater? Yep, that’s right. It’s also the largest organ we humans have and the gateway to our circulatory system (and the rest of our body), so how about we keep those chemicals off!
