THE NTH DEGREE STORY
Peter, Bob and Nth Degree … The dream becomes reality.
Peter Strahm and Bob Todaro have known each other for over 35 years, growing up playing baseball and attending Monsignor Farrell High School together in Staten Island, NY. Their sports connection kept them close throughout their college years and initial life in the business world.
Back in 1985, Bob was working for the Pepsi bottler in NYC. He encouraged Peter to apply for a job, and soon they worked together learning the beverage business on the streets of Brooklyn, NY. “Talk about a real education…we learned more about the business from the Pepsi distributors than you could get in any classroom,” said Bob.
In 1989, Peter left for a new opportunity with a small, unknown startup iced tea company named Snapple, the soon-to-be-great beverage success story of the ’90s.
It did not take long for Peter to convince Bob to join him and become part of the Snapple revolution. The duo got to work in an organization that created healthier, exciting and fun new products made from innovative flavors that consumers craved. Peter and Bob worked in multiple management capacities for Snapple and were instrumental in creating their sales/distribution network throughout the country. “Snapple was the ultimate hands-on experience for a young manager. Everyone contributed to all facets of the business as a team. We learned and grew together, eventually making a small entrepreneurial company and brand a household name,” said Peter.
After the Snapple years, Bob and Peter continued their successful beverage careers on separate paths with great companies. Peter helped put Jones Soda on the map as their VP of Sales in 1998 and 1999 before moving to Red Bull North America where he spent the next 10 years as the VP/GM for the East Region. Bob continued to work with exciting brands that fit the changing lifestyles of consumers, most notably at Cadbury Schweppes Americas Beverages.
