Jokari®, founded in 1974, was the exclusive marketer of a patented paddle ball game called Jokari. Jokari was a simple toy constructed of a rubber ball attached by a long elastic band to a wooden paddle. The toy quickly gained worldwide popularity over the traditional string paddle ball games and a successful company was born. Eager to capitalize on the obvious appeal of unique items, other patented products quickly emerged including the Fizz-Keeper®, a product still sold today, which was designed to preserve opened bottles of soft drinks for weeks by pumping air into the bottle thereby inhibiting carbonation to escape. Through this type of innovation, Jokari grew itself into a popular kitchen gadget, home storage and organization company with an entire line of exclusive products, most with patents.
