What does Herbal Bone-Up® do?
Jarrow FORMULAS® Herbal BONE-UP® is an advanced formulation of unique vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients that address both facets of mid-life bone health: the maintenance of the bone matrix and the healthy activities of bone cells. In addition to supplying the vitamins and minerals essential to the building of new bone (including calcium, vitamin D, and MK-7 [a highly bioactive form of vitamin K] ), Herbal BONE-UP® contains extracts of Psoralea, hops (Perluxan™), epimedium, and flax lignans, four botanicals that promote the healthy activities of the cells that build and remodel bone.
HEALTH CLAIM: Regular, weight-bearing exercise and a healthy diet with adequate calcium, including supplementation, helps teen and young adults build and maintain bone mass and may reduce their risk of osteoporosis later in life. Daily calcium intake above 2,000 mg is not likely to provide additional benefit. Adequate calcium intake is also linked to reduced bone loss in older men and women.
