Wuyi Oolong Full Leaf by The Republic of Tea
The process of making oolong tea is a relative newcomer in tea manufacturing, developed in Taiwan (formerly Formosa) in the mid-nineteenth century. It combines elements of both fermented and unfermented processes.
Suggested Use
The simplest way to brew a cup of oolong tea is to throw about a teaspoonful of leaves into a cup and pour in fresh, boiling water. The leaves sinking to the bottom will tell you when the tea is ready to drink. Beautiful, full, coppery leaves can be appreciated each time a sip is taken. Add more water when needed. If you prefer to drink your tea traditionally, simply use an infuser or a strainer. Brew for about four minutes. If following ancient traditions, fill a small clay (preferably Yixing) pot with leaves. Add boiling water as needed and sip the strong brew in tiny cups.
Ingredients
Pure Silver-Tip Formosan Oolong leaves.
The Republic of Tea
When The Republic of Tea set out to form their small Republic, their not so covert mission was to create a Tea Revolution. Their purpose was to enrich people's lives through the experience of fine tea and the Sip by Sip life - a life of health, balance and well-being. From the beginning, tea has been a drink that is shared with others. Around the world, at high tea in Devonshire and age-old ceremonies in Japan, tea is brewed and taken together with friends and family in rituals of hospitality and nourishment for both body and soul. At The Republic of Tea, you'll find many ways to get to know tea anew, through a selection that will educate, inspire and communicate the quality, benefits, values and lifestyle that is The Republic of Tea.
