We manufacture our products according to the mandatory standards of Health Canada's Natural Health Products Directorate (NHPD). The regulations found under the NHPD are comparable to the regulations of the United States' FDA and Canada's Therapeutic Drugs Directorate (TPD), both of which regulate pharmaceutical products. The only difference is that the NHPD governs supplements considered to be natural health products, including herbals and vitamin supplements.
The oil used in our Rx- Omega product is considered to be pharmaceutical grade as it is processed according to pharmaceutical standards, not as a food. It is a highly concentrated form of omega-3 fatty acids that are free from lipid peroxides, heavy metals, environmental contaminants and other harmful compounds. Each capsule contains 1065 mg of marine lipid concentrate, made up of anchovy, sardine and mackerel.
The oil is tested using standards and methods that conform to NHPD (Natural Health Product Directorate) regulations and guidelines.
