About Logona
During the 1970’s, Europe experienced a wave of environmental consciousness and activism. Organic agriculture, renewable energy and environmental responsibility became the watchwords of the movement. In 1975, a group of inspired and like-minded friends opened a shop, Lorien Goods, in Hanover, Germany. Their shop featured the few products available at the time that fit the values of the new, green movement. To expand their shop’s selection and to wholesale to other stores, the group began to import products from outside of Germany. In 1977, they decided it was time to begin manufacturing their own body care products and LOGONA was born.
LOGONA’S commitment to manufacturing and packaging body care products in an ecologically responsible manner resonated with their customers and the product line steadily expanded over the years. Today, LOGONA offers more than 200 natural personal care and cosmetic products. Strict ingredient quality standards are of fundamental importance in LOGONA’S product formulation and manufacturing. Our products utilize the highest quality, natural raw materials, such as: premium botanical oils, herbal extracts and essential oils derived from organic agriculture and wild-crafting. In addition to rigorous ingredient standards, we also meet or exceed industry sustainability standards for minimizing resource consumption during manufacturing and for minimal and recyclable packaging for our finished products.

Standards and Quality
Manufacturing personal care products without synthetic preservatives requires especially careful handling of both raw materials and finished products, as the slightest contamination can ruin an entire production run. Logona utilizes GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice), the pharmaceutical industry’s production standard, to guide their manufacturing processes.
Logona also continuously improves their products' quality to keep current with advances in manufacturing and ingredient standards. However, no advance in product quality comes at the cost of Logona's steadfast commitment to environmental responsibility. Logona's foremost goal is to make quality personal care products with minimal impact on the planet and its resources.
Certifications
Logona's raw materials are of the highest quality and, whenever possible, of certified organic origin. In addition, nearly all of Logona's products are certified by BDHI and NaTrue, two independent certification standards that award their seal to products that comply with the strictest natural standards.
 Plant Extracts
Chamomile from Egypt, rosemary from France, linden blossom from Croatia, horsetail from Portugal – Logona's Research & Development team analyzes plants from all over the world to determine the best resources for their products.
And, because production methods play an equally important role in the quality of a plant extract, Logona produces many of their own extracts. By utilizing a mixture of bio-ethanol, water and glycerin (standard extracts are usually made using only ethanol and water) Logona slowly and gently releases the active plant ingredients. The addition of glycerin and Logona's six to eight hour extraction process allows them to capture more of the active plant ingredients than with a standard ethanol and water mixture.
With few exceptions, the plants Logona sources for their extracts are certified organic. And, most of Logona's plant extracts are from classic medicinal plants, making them extremely effective.
