Is the BlenderBottle made of BPA-free plastic?
Yes. The BlenderBottle has always been made of BPA-free plastic. The lid and flip cap are made of #2 HDPE (high density polyethylene). The cup is made of #5 PP (polypropylene). The materials are FDA approved. Click here for more detailed information.

Is the BlenderBottle Dishwasher Safe?
Yes. Both the BlenderBottle and the BlenderBall are dishwasher safe.

Why aren't the recycle numbers (i.e., #2 and #5) listed on the bottle?
The bottom of the cup shows the recycle logo with "PP" next to it. All plastic with the #5 recycle symbol is PP. The BlenderBottle will eventually have the recycle numbers embossed on it for easy reference.

Is the BlenderBottle lead-free?
Yes.

Does the BlenderBottle meet European government standards?
Yes.

What is the BlenderBall made of?
Polished 316 (surgical-grade) stainless steel.

Is the BlenderBottle microwavable?
They do not recommend microwave use.

Can the BlenderBottle be used to mix hot liquids?
No. Hot or warm liquids may build up pressure within the bottle and cause the flip cap to open unexpectedly and spray contents. Some ingredients such as pancake batter may also build up pressure within the bottle. When mixing these types of ingredients, you should hold your finger over the flip cap while shaking and use caution when opening the flip cap. Always point the spout away from face when opening the flip cap.

I've seen different logos on bottles that look like the BlenderBottle. How can I know if it is a genuine BlenderBottle?
The BlenderBottle is a patented product. We have a private label program and produce bottles for many companies with their logo. However, the bottom of each bottle will always have the BlenderBottle trademark, website URL, and patent information.

Is the BlenderBottle patented?
