Or, you could put that exotic island paradise into a glass and enjoy it any time. This sweet, icy drink infused with hibiscus, exotic herbs and natural tropical flavors may not have all the advantages of a week on a beach. On the other hand, it’s significantly more available.
Voluptuous hibiscus blossoms, perfumed with passion fruit essences, slide up to long tall lemongrass. A forbidden fruit romance ignites, but ice cubes will quickly cool things down to a pleasant PG-rated affair.
Herbal teas are not actually true teas as they contain none of the Camellia sinensis leaf. Instead, herbal teas often include leaves, flowers, roots, peels, berries and spices.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best way to store tea? How long will it stay fresh?
Once roasted, tea begins to lose its flavor the longer it is exposed to air and moisture. However, tea retains its full flavor profile for up to one year. Tazo recommends buying your tea weekly and storing it in an airtight container in a cool, dark place. Tea in an unopened bag, box or tin can stay fresh for up to one year. Carefully read the packaging of your tea to determine shelf life.
What is the best brewing method?
The best brewing method for your tea can be found on the packaging.
The 4 Fundamentals
The recipe for a great cup of tea is broken into four fundamentals: Proportion, Brew Time, Water and Freshness. Understand and follow the guidelines for each, and you're on your way to brewing a great cup of tea every time.
Use the right proportion of tea to water. This is the most important step in making great tea. For the most flavorful cup of tea, Tazo recommends carefully reading the tea packaging for proper measurements.
- Brew Time
Brew or steeping time can significantly affect the flavor and strength of your cup of tea. Please refer to the brewing instructions on your package of tea for recommended ideal brewing / steeping times.
Use fresh, cold water heated to just off the boil. A cup of tea is 98 percent water. Therefore, the water you use to make tea should taste clean, fresh, and free of impurities. Please refer to your package of tea for recommended water temperature for your particular tea. Any cooler than recommended and the water can't adequately do the job.
Use tea that is within the recommended shelf life, found on your package of tea. The enemies of tea are oxygen, light, heat, and moisture. To keep tea fresh, store it in an opaque, airtight container at room temperature. Storing tea in the refrigerator or freezer for daily use can damage the tea as warm, moist air condenses to the tea ingredients whenever the container is opened.
Tazo is for Tea
Tazo is for tasting the wind, mist and sunshine that blessed the leaves the morning they were picked. They're for revering all the best things the earth has to offer. They're for plucking the finest teas and botanicals and reimagining them into unexpected cups of inspiration.
Why Tazo Blends
Everything they do is rooted in their love and reverence for tea. And the tradition of blending teas with botanicals, herbs, roots and spices is as old as the tradition of drinking tea itself.
They have longstanding relationships with top tea gardens all over the world. They purchase unblended teas at the peak of freshness and they deliver them into the expert hands of their blenders. In turn they artfully alchemize these treasures into tapestries of places, times, cultures and ideas.
Let the Cup Speak
Every tea Tazo offers is tasted up to five times before they serve it to you. They insist on perfect, true flavors. And they hope that every delicious sip fills your imagination with stories of your ancestors, the drama of nature's patterns and the universal comfort of rituals.
The winding path of our tea journey is paved with exceptionally high standards.
Tazo is fastidiously picky to the point of obsession. So they hike, climb, and paddle to seek the very best ingredients. They travel the globe, inviting only the finest growers to the Tazo™ tea party.
How Tazo Got Its Name
The name Tazo has roots in many civilizations. Tazo actually means "river of life" in the Romany language, and was used as a toast to life by ancient Greeks. Tazo also means "fresh" in several Hindi dialects. In ancient Babylonia, Tazo was a rejuvenating elixir thought to have magical properties.

To most people, Tazo is simply a wonderfully delicious beverage that begins when the world’s finest teas are blended with extraordinary imagination. Modern tea scholars believe that the original Tazo formulas can still be seen on the Tazo stone, which was uncovered when a cave on the shores of the red sea was revealed by an abnormally low tide following a lunar eclipse and earthquake in 1987. You may be content not to think about it at all, but simply enjoy the rich, invigorating, contemplative, satisfying experience that is Tazo.
