Recipe - Basic Chia Gel
This recipe demonstrates chia's incredible ability to absorb up to 9 times its weight in water. For a thicker or thinner gel, adjust the water accordingly.
Ingredients Difficulty: Easy
4 Tbsp. Navitas Naturals Chia Seeds
2 cups water
Directions Mix together chia and water. Let chia stand for 15 to 30 minutes, stirring with a whisk to prevent clumping. Gel can be used as a thickener in raw soups, fruit smoothies and fresh jams. Try adding acai or cacao into the pudding mixture below for an extra nourishing punch!
Recipe - Antioxidant Breakfast Power Crunch
Ingredients Difficulty: Easy
3 Tbsp. Navitas Naturals Chia Seeds
1/2 cup. Navitas Naturals Raw Antioxidant Trail Power Mix
1 tsp. Navitas Naturals Maca Powder
2 Tbsp. Navitas Naturals Mesquite Powder
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
or 2 Tbsp. maple or manuka honey
or 2 packets stevia
2 bananas
1 tsp. extra virgin coconut oil
1 tsp. bee pollen (optional)
2-3 Tbsp. Hemp Seeds or Hemp Hearts
1/2 cup of any fresh berries
1/2 cup water
pinch or salt
Directions Blend water, hemp seeds, and your sweetener of choice into a "hemp milk." Add bananas, coconut oil, vanilla, salt, bee pollen (optional), and maca. Blend into a thick cream or pudding. Adjust sweetness if desired, and pour over a mix of chia seeds, berries, and Navitas Naturals Trail Mix. Let stand for a few minutes allowing the moisture to absorb and serve.
Recipe - Frozen Berry Shake
Ingredients Difficulty: Easy
1 tsp. Navitas Naturals Maca Powder
1 Tbsp. Navitas Naturals Acai Powder
1 Tbsp. Navitas Naturals Yacon Powder
1 cup Chia gel (see chia gel recipe)
2 Young Thai coconuts water and flesh
1 bannana
1 cup Frozen blueberries or other frozen berries
add Water as needed
Directions Blend all ingredients together, adding water as needed, and serve!

Chef's Notes: Navitas Naturals gourmet food artists find this versatile product useful in any recipe that needs an omega rich thickener. Chia Seeds are high in protein, fiber, and the all important essential omega fats.
Raw chia seeds are an excellent thickener, similar to flaxseeds or eggs in any recipe. They can take a liquid smoothie and turn it into a syrup like blend with no added taste.
If you're looking to add fiber to you diet Chia Powder is excellent sources of high quality natural fiber similar to ground flax.
Use Chia in baking recipes as a flour replacement or in place of any recipe calling for flaxseeds.
