NuNaturals CalmMind with Suntheanine - 60 Capsules

NuNaturals Calm Mind with Suntheanine contains GABA that works naturally to regulate neural transmissions in the brain. L-Theanine is a unique amino acid commonly found naturally in Green Tea (Camellia sinensis). Studies have demonstrated that dietary supplementation of L-Theanine increases alpha wave activity. The combination of GABA and L-Theanine creates a relaxed state of mind while keeping you alert without drowsiness. It is perfect for daytime use when fighting the effects of stress.

    What is L-theanine?
L-theanine is a unique amino acid commonly found in green tea. It has been determined that L-theanine is a derivative of Glutamic Acid, is one of the neurotransmitters found in the brain. Absorbed in the intestinal brush-border membrane, L-theanine, due to its fat solubility, is incorporated into the brain via the leucine-preferring transport system of the blood brain barrier. Once absorbed into the brain, L-Theanine exhibits many positive, physiological effects. Unlike Kava Kava, and Valerian, L-theanine does not cause drowsiness or impair a person's motor skills. Perhaps one of the most extensively researched and documented nutritional ingredients, L-theanine has demonstrated safety and efficacy in many applications.

How much L-theanine is in a cup of tea?
Nonhuman research links L-theanine much more directly to brain health and function. One proposed mechanism is that L-theanine either inhibits production or blocks receptors for the neurotransmitter glutamate, akin to memantine, a receptor-blocker drug approved by the Food and Drug Administration for Alzheimer's disease. There is also in vitro and animal evidence that L-theanine reduces the risk of cell death as a result of temporary oxygen deprivation. In one rat experiment, L-theanine significantly prevented memory impairment. This mechanism would apply to protection from vascular dementia.

    How does L-theanine work?
Alpha waves are present at different times in your life. If you have ever experienced a calm, relaxed state of mind you were probably in an alpha state of mind. Scientist who study the brain have been able to correlate different emotional states to brain wave activity. It has been found that meditators measure very high for alpha waves after meditating, when a person is usually in a highly relaxed and focused state of mind. Thirty minutes after taking Calm Mind you will notice you are calmer, more relaxed and highly focused. Perfect for those stressful days when you have to be in your best state of mind.

What are alpha waves & why do I want them?
There is approximately 25-40 mg per cup of tea. Across all types of tea, the L-theanine content ranged from 40-300 mg per 100 grams dried tea leaf, which would result in an estimated intake range of 1-9 mg per cup. You would need to drink four to five cups of tea a day to get 30-40 mg per day. With CalmMind, you are getting an effective dose in an easy to swallow capsule.

    What is GABA?
GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid), is one of the main neurotransmitters in the brain. GABA is an amino acid. This neurotransmitter and helps induce relaxation and sleep. It helps inhibit over-excitation controlling nerve impulses in the brain. GABA contributes to motor control, vision, and many other cortical functions. GABA helps regulate anxiety. GABA also stimulates the anterior pituitary, leading to higher levels of Human Growth Hormone (HGH). Human Growth Hormone contributes significantly to muscle growth and also prevents the creation of fat cells. HGH depletion is prevalent in adults over the age of 40 may be responsible for sleep disturbances or interrupted sleeping patterns.
