Total Detox Organic Triphala by Himalayan Institute
Himalayan Institute Total Detox Organic Triphala - 60 Vegetarian Capsules
Himalayan Institute Total Detox Organic Triphala is a natural, time-tested cleansing formula used by Ayurvedic practitioners. According to Ayurveda, its cleansing and tonifying functions begin with the GI tract and work all the way to the cellular and energetic levels. Total Detox Triphala is a master formula for total well-being. Herbal extracts: equal parts of: Amalaki (Emblica officinalis), Bibhitaki (Terminalia belerica), and Haritaki (Terminalia chebula).
Triphala is a uniquely effective formula historically used in India for rejuvenating and strengthening the bowels and gastrointestinal tract without weakening bowel tone, a common negative side effect of many other laxatives. It is a natural intestinal cleanser, relieves constipation, optimizes metabolism and stabilizes body weight by supporting and balancing nutrient absorption in the colon. In addition to the support of the digestive system triphala is also believed to help build blood and support healthy liver and lymphatic function. Triphala is one of the most popular formulas in traditional Indian Ayurveda not only for its safe, gentle and effective blend but also because of its mystical intrigue. The laundry list of favorable effects traditionally attributed to triphala is too long to print, and contemporary research has confirmed the validity of many of these ancient Ayurvedic uses.

This conscientiously produced blend guarantees that our triphala is the purest and most potent product of its kind.
Triphala literally translates to “three fruits”; it is made from an equal blend of Amalaki fruit Emblica officinalis, Bibhitaki fruit Terminalia bellerica, and Haritaki fruit Terminalia chebula. Each of these plants is a powerful botanical on its own with a specific ability to balance one of the three ayurvedic doshas. This “tri-doshic” formula is perfect for all ayurvedic constitutions.
Amalaki Emblica officinalis is considered to be one of the most significant rejuvenating herbs in Ayurveda. It is a very sour, astringent and cooling fruit which is one of Mother Nature’s most concentrated sources of natural vitamin C (ascorbic acid). It helps to balance all three doshas but especially calms Pitta.
Bibhitaki Terminalia bellerica is mainly astringent, warming and helps to calm all three doshas but is especially good for reducing Kapha’s congestive disorders. The fruit has both constricting and laxative properties so it cleanses and tones bowel tissue simultaneously.
Haritaki Terminalia chebula is mostly astringent, warming and balancing to all doshas but is predominately used to remedy Vata imbalances. Referred to as the “King of Herbs” in Tibetan medicine, this herb aids large intestine cleansing, promotes natural detoxification and is believed to nourish nervous and cerebral tissue.
Suggested Use
For adults, start with one to two capsules twice a day on an empty stomach or between meals. Over time, the dosage may be adjusted up or down with consideration to age, weight, and constitution depending on personal preference, individual need, and the body’s response. Do not use during pregnancy or lactation unless advised by a healthcare practitioner.
Warnings
Do not use during pregnancy or lactation unless advised by a healthcare practitioner. Keep out of reach of children. Use only as directed on the label. Store in a cool, dry place.
