That's how they ensure their beeswax cultivating process protects the Bees' normal production cycle. Bees produce a wax honeycomb where they raise their young and store honey and pollen. Burt's Bees products are made with natural ingredients. They purposely present our products in smaller portions so you finish them while their ingredients are still fresh and providing their maximum effectiveness. As such, we recommend you store creams and oils in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight and heat. Creams may be stored in their cartons for extra protection.

Over 95% of Burt's Bees products are made right in their own manufacturing plant in Durham, NC. The rest are made by other respectable American manufacturers.
