Thai Kitchen Instant Rice Noodle Soup Sping Onion with flavor enhancers Disodium Inosinate and Disodium Guanylate (I&G).
Disodium guanylate and Disodium inosinate are flavor enhancer, which may be non-vegetarian. Its sources are mineral, animal (meat/fish), vegetable, or fungal. Often used together to create a deeper, more savory flavor. Sping Onion Instant Rice Noodle Soup has these flavor enhancers.
Disodium guanylate and Disodium inosinate (the combination is known as disodium 5'-ribonucleotides) are natural disodium salt of the flavor enhancer guanosine monophosphate (GMP). They are commonly used in conjunction with glutamic acid (monosodium glutamate, MSG).
As it is a fairly expensive additive, they are not used independently of glutamic acid; if disodium guanylate and disodium inosinate are present in a list of ingredients but MSG does not appear to be, it is likely that glutamic acid is provided as part of another ingredient such as a processed soy protein complex.
Disodium guanylate & Disodium inosinate are often added to instant noodles, potato chips and other snacks, savoury rice, tinned vegetables, cured meats, and packaged soup....
