Al Licata, PhD, opened his first of a chain of health food stores in 1959. Early on, he began a line of private label supplements and his own custom formulations. As these unique formulations grew in sales, he started World Organic Corporation in 1969 with his brother Vincent to share them with stores nationwide and continue with private label in his own stores.
