From selling on a sidewalk in Harlem, Richelieu Dennis and Nyema Tubman transformed drops of scented oil into sundial creations, a business conglomerate that today includes 4 retail stores and a state of the art 50,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility. Locally, the company provides community entrepreneurs, artists and authors a platform to sell their crafts, books, jewelry, clothing and other handmade products through the sundial stores. A percentage of sales are donated to local congregations to support youth and other community development programs.

Nubian Heritage Honey & Black Seed Soap is cold pressed. Nubian Heritage Honey & Black Seed Soap is made with Apricot Oil and Wild Honey. Nubian Heritage Honey & Black Seed Soap is 100% vegetable based. Honey has historically been used as an antiseptic in balms and poultices to comfort and soothe skin, reduce redness and heal wounds. Black Seed oil, Nigella Sativa, can be traced back more than 3,000 years to the kingdom of the Assyrians and ancient Egyptians. Discovered in the tomb of King Tutankhamen, Black Seed oil was reportedly used by Queen Nefertiti to maintain her exquisite complexion. Black Seed earned the Arabic approbation "habbatul barakah," the seed of blessing, for its powerful curative properties in traditional medicine.
The traditional use of Black Seed oil on the skin to strengthen the immune system, prevent external infections and increase blood circulation has been updated in a gentle exfoliating cleanser made with Black Seeds, conditioning Honey, healing Shea Butter and softening Apricot Oil.

Nubian Heritage's Humble Beginnings
In 1992, fresh out of college without jobs, Rich and Nyema embarked on a personal mission to produce high quality bath and body products utilizing all-natural ingredients and ancient healing philosophies from around the globe. Nubian Heritage is the brainchild of these lifelong friends, turned New York Street Vendors, who simply grew frustrated with the inferior quality, high chemical content, poor selection and exorbitant prices of skin care products. Today Nubian Heritage has hundreds of all-natural and organic products and although they are no longer made in bath tubs or kitchen sinks, little else has changed. They are still obsessed with Fair Trade ingredients, Ancient Healing Philosophies, Community Commerce and Culturally Authentic Products.

Wow. Absolutely delicious. I will continue to buy this until they discontinue it. Lathers up great, smells yummy (like honey), dirt cheap, 100% natural, fair-traded, and made by a company with a conscience. If you love this scent, you MUST get the Honey

NubianHeritage Bar soaps are the only soaps I use. They do not seem to make my glass shower walls waxy, they all smell wonderful and this one is one of my favorites. I am on a mission to try them all.

Not sure if it is as good as it should be for acne prone skin. Been using it for a month now, but I still get breakouts. Otherwise excellent for the rest of the body!

I buy this for me since the hubs uses NH's black soap and I love it. Smells divine and lathers luxuriously. I will not use another brand ever again.

I tried it at random after reading the ingredients. I don't know what benefit the black seeds offer but some of the other things, the shea, glycerin, apricot oil, and honey make for a great gentle wash that seems to leave my skin soft but still clean. Honey also has natural disinfectant and healing qualities (I think because of it slightly peroxide properties). I also love the smell. It's kind of like a floral clover honey smell. It is strong so be warned, but it doesn't linger on you after rinsing. One thing I noticed after the first use, was how my skin just kind of looked better. It says soothing on the box, and it really seems to do that. I use it from head to toe now and love it!
