I purchased this on my last order and had never had buckwheat honey before. It has a very pungent odor and taste. The nicest way I can describe it is a dirty, sweet taste. I had one spoonful and couldn't do any more. If you haven't had it, consider yourself warned.

This our most favorite honey, and we tried many...the taste and aroma are strong and different from regular honey.
The difference between this honey and the regular one is like the difference between good expensive French cheese and simple American soft cheese. You love it or you hate it.

I agree with both reviews. I've eaten lots of pungent healthy things...and this by far is one of the most gross flavors (beside Hawaiian poi) I've ever experienced. Wouldn't recommend this product.

I have tried 45 different varieties of honey; this one ranks up there as one of my favorites! Amazing flavor! If you are used to store bought clover honey, and like it, this is probably not for you.

Buckwheat honey does taste different from your average type of honey but it has amazing health properties. I use it in my son's tea when he is getting sick.

The honey is good, but, by taste, it is not a pure buckwheat honey. Tastes different.

I'm very pleased with the product, much better than the buckweat honey at a nearby Health stores here in the midwest. Wished they carried YS Organic Farms Brand.
I am also pleased with how well you pkg my shipment, however, II would have appreciated a heads up with this last order that the shipment would be delayed due to a change in the warehouse. That would have been very helpful. Susie

I had never tried this before. Good yet an acquired taste The Buckwheat honey has a distinct, almost smokey flavor different from other honey, like clover, for example.

This was my first time trying any buckwheat honey and it definitely has a distinctive flavor that took some getting used to. My kids age 2 and 3 both grew to like it on their oatmeal and I acquired a taste for it as well. I feel like it's a healthier way to go than sugar or even clover honey, so I suppose it's worth the extra cost. My only complaint would be the slightly weird, bittersweet taste, which I guess is normal for buckwheat honey, and that it is a tad pricey.

I always wanted to try buckwheat honey and the price was very good. Unfortunately,the jars were broken when I received my order. Lucky vitamins replaced the honey right away! Thank you very much! The honey is super!

Best buckwheat honey I've tried! I've had Buckwheat honey before and the texture was a bit grainy. I'm amazed at the smoothness of this one. Great taste too. Will purchase again!

I love complex tastes. If you do also, you will probably like this honey. If you like molasses and darker honeys, it is similar in some ways to this. However, if someone doesn't have a taste for variety in sweeteners, you might not care for it. I like it because it tastes more than sugar syrup, and has a woodsy taste and feel to it. I think it is probably better in recipes and on bread/baked items than in tea, just in my opinion. Its pretty yummy.

Very, very strong flavor. I recommend knowing in advance what you're using it for. It was very very thick, more like a butter than a honey consistency. It was good, just strong.
