What is Whole Soy?

Not to be confused with soy protein isolate. It may be a small bean, but there are big differences when it comes to the various types of soy extract and whole soy.

Most people are familiar with soy but are surprised to hear that it usually loses some of its nutrient content during the process of becoming a soy product. That’s because in most soy foods, only part of the bean is extracted and used. With whole soy, however, the whole bean is used. Nothing is discarded, which means that whole soy retains all of soy’s natural nutrients.

Edamame
Commonly found in Japanese restaurants, edamame is another name for green, immature soybeans. Edamame is a good source of calcium, folate and potassium.

Soymilk
You’ve probably seen soymilk at the grocery store. To make soymilk, soybeans are soaked, ground fine and then strained, producing a fluid called soymilk. While soymilk retains many of the soybeans nutrients, it does not contain the fiber from the soybeans.

1. The soybeans SOYJOY pick are Non-GMO and grown here in the United States.
2. SOYJOY takes the whole soybeans, toast them and grind them into flour.
3. All the raw ingredients are accurately weighed.
4. All the necessary ingredients are mixed in a mixer. Each flavor has its own mixing time and speed.
5. After it's mixed, the dough goes through the forming machine. It's formed to make long, think noodles.
6. The long noodles of dough are cut into shape.
7. The cut bars pass through an oven to bake.
8. The baked bars are transferred onto spiral conveyors to cool down over time.
9. In order to maintain flavor and freshness, the bars are individually wrapped as soon as they cool down.
