Burt's Bees Bug Bite Relief is made with an all-natural blend of essential oils, this balm quickly soothes pesky bug bites. When nature bites, fight back with Bug Bite Relief. Camphor and Menthol relieve pain while Lemongrass, Thyme, Lavender and Orange Oils reduce discomfort. It's a jungle out there; go out and have fun!

    How Bug Bite Relief Works
Made with an all-natural blend of essential oils, this balm quickly soothes pesky bug bites. Camphor and menthol relieve pain and itching, while lemongrass, thyme, lavender and orange oils reduce discomfort.

    Featured Ingredient
Tea Tree Oil: Melaleuca alternifolia. The aboriginal people of Australia have long used Tea tree oil as an antiseptic. The oil is best known for its antiviral, antibacterial and antifungal properties. It can help to fight all three categories of infectious organisms (bacteria, fungi and viruses). For skin and hair, Tea tree has been used to combat acne, oily skin, head lice and dandruff. The oil has a fresh, characteristic mint and spice back-notes aroma.

Burt’s Bees Outdoor… Discover. Experience. Protect.
Burt’s Bees has created a special line of Outdoor products that treat and protect skin naturally, so you can make the most of the great outdoors while also helping sustain the environment. Their Outdoor products' eco-friendly formulas and packaging care for you and the environment:

    • Natural cleansers made from coconut and sunflower oils instead of sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS). SLS is a synthetic ingredient found in many face, hair and body products. It is used as a foaming agent, and has no inherent moisturizing properties. Furthermore, SLS does not meet the standards of the Natural Product Association.
    • Beeswax and Japan Fruit Wax instead of petrolatum. Petrolatum is often found in over-the-counter skin care products and is a non-renewable hydrocarbon made from crude oil.
    • Titanium dioxide instead of oxybenzone. Oxybenzone is a synthetic active commonly found in sunscreens.
    • Sustainable packaging instead of non-recyclable, non-portable, or non-usable packaging that is still often used today. Burt's packaging protects the environment by using sustainable packaging that is portable, reusable or recyclable.

Discover the protecting power of natural ingredients on your next outdoor adventure!

    Burt's Bees Frequently Asked Questions
    Are your products hypoallergenic?
There is no defined methodology to test for allergic reactions in beauty or personal care products, nor does the FDA regulate use of the term "hypoallergenic." Consequently, Burt's Bees does not position their products as hypoallergenic. A list of ingredients for each product is available on individual product information pages on this site.

Are your products safe for pregnant women to use?
Burt's Bees recommends that any expectant mother check with her physician before changing her skin care routine with their products, or any other line of products.

How long will my Burt's Bees products stay fresh and what is the best way to store them?
Burt's Bees products are made with natural ingredients. They purposely present our products in smaller portions so you finish them while their ingredients are still fresh and providing their maximum effectiveness. As such, we recommend you store creams and oils in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight and heat. Creams may be stored in their cartons for extra protection.

Where are Burt's Bees products made?
Over 95% of Burt's Bees products are made right in their own manufacturing plant in Durham, NC. The rest are made by other respectable American manufacturers.

Do you test on animals and do your products contain animal-derived ingredients?
Burt's Bees does NOT conduct product or ingredient tests of any kind on animals. A few of their products contain ingredients derived from animals such as beeswax, royal jelly, milk and carmine.

I am allergic to bees. Can I still use your products?
Burt's Bees does not use actual bee venom in their products – only bee by products such as honey, beeswax, royal jelly and honey powder. However, if you are allergic to bee by-products, then Burt's Bees does not suggest using their products. They recommend that you contact your health care provider when changing your skin care regimen to find out which products are best for you.

What Burt's Bees is All About
Your well-being is affected every single day by the personal care products you use. Burt's Bees' goal is to create and educate people on truly natural products that have a positive effect on both you and the world you live in for the good of your well-being, for the good of the environment and for The Greater Good. Simply put, they strive to make people's lives better every day — naturally.

The Story Behind Burt's Bees Brand
Burt's Bees has come a long way from selling home-made beeswax lip balms and hand salves at local craft fairs, but their belief in creating truly natural products that are good for you and the environment hasn't changed.

Really, really dry product. Not sure if I got an old bottle or if it's just the formula. Doesn't go on well at all. Works okay. Not SO GREAT, but does help. I think it's better on my eczema than bites though. Bites are still better with a dab of castile soap left to dry out.

I bought this based on the other reviews but unfortunately it has little effect on itching from bites. I have placed a ton of this stuff on ant bites and it did very little to stop the itching. Its better than nothing but there are much more effective products out there and I wont be purchasing this one again.

    About Burt's Bees

At Burt’s Bees, they scour the good earth to find the most natural, effective ingredients to put in our products. To Burt’s Bees, the word “natural” means only one thing. It means, “harvested from nature.” And they adhere to that definition like the strictest of school teachers. There are ingredients that you will never find in any Burt’s Bees product. Things like petroleum which can be toxic. Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, which is a harsh, aggressive ingredient used in certain beauty products. And when was the last time you saw a farmer growing Propylene Glycol? Rather than loading their products up with harsh chemicals or unnecessary fillers, they offer you only the good stuff.
