Parts used and where grown Oregano is an aromatic perennial herb that can grow to about two feet in height. It is native to the Mediterranean region but is cultivated worldwide. In addition to European oregano, there are several types of related species, including Greek/Turkish oregano (Origanum onites) and Mexican oregano (Lippia graveolens, Lippa palmeri). These should not be considered substitutes for true oregano, though they may have similar properties. The leaves as well as the volatile oil of these various species are used medicinally, but must be carefully distinguished as they are quite different.
Historical or traditional use The name Oreganum is the contraction of two Greek words, oros meaning mountain and ganos meaning joy. Together the words suggest the beauty that oregano lends to the fields and hilltops on which it grows.2 Oregano was used extensively by the Greeks for conditions ranging from convulsions to heart failure. Nineteenth-century American Eclectic physicians (doctors who recommended herbal medicines) employed oregano as both a general tonic and to promote menstruation.
Suggested Use
Internally 1-4 drops 2 to 3 times daily. May be diluted in water. Externally apply liberally as needed. Shake well before using.
Warnings
Keep out of reach of children. Not intended for use by pregnant or nursing women. A normal tingling sensation may be noticed when applied externally.

I have used Oil of Oregano purchased from other places and must say that this one is extremely strong and very unpleasant. It says to take 1-4 drops internally... it was almost impossible for us to use it like that. We keep it and use it for external applications, which it seems to work very well. I would not suggest this product for internal use.

This is the most amazing health supplementhealer I have ever tried ... Really . I suffer from frequent infections especially in my mouth . I notable improvement in 24 hours . I take it on a spoon with a little water . A dropper full 3 times a day . It tastes terrible . I have avoided antibiotics many times due to this . It must be this brand . Tried several others . This brand is by far best .
