All Liver by Natural Sources
Natural Sources - All Liver - 60 Capsules
Natural Sources - All Liver now comes in easy-to-digest Capsules. Natural Sources All Liver Concentrate naturally supports the largest organ in the body, the liver; an enzymatic organ responsible for storing energy (glucose), vitamins, iron and minerals; synthesizing protein; processing expired red blood cells, producing bile, metabolizing toxins, regulating hormones and cholesterol and killing germs that have entered the body through the intestines.
Whole "raw" tissue concentrated from bovine sources specially processed (freeze-dried) at or below -5°C to preserve natural occurring vitamins, enzymes, nucleotides, lipoproteins and other cellular components. "Raw" tissue concentrates are made from toxin-free lyophilized glands imported from animals grazed on rangeland free of pesticides, growth hormones, antibiotics or chemical additives. Special sustained release formulation ensure maximum intestinal availability.
The liver is the body's biochemical workhorse, performing thousands of metabolic, enzymatic, detoxifying, and regulatory tasks. This organ is central to the metabolism of fats, carbohydrates, and proteins, including storage and interconversion: it store such vitamins andminerals as B-1 2, K, C, manganese, iron and zinc: it filters bacteria and other foreign material out of the blood; it elimininates blood-borne toxins like alcohol: it takes up or releases sugar in the blood in response to hormonal commands from the adrenals and pancreas: it manufactures bile for the digestion process.
The liver plays so central a role in the body that it is implicated in many diseases and dysfunctions. In addition, the organ itself can be damaged by infection and by chemical abuse, particularly alcoholism.
In carbohydrate metabolism, the liver performs the following functions:
Fat metabolism in the liver entails the following:
- Synthesis and storage of glycogen.
- Conversion of other sugars to glucose.
- Release of glucose for the maintenance of adequate sugar levels in thebloodstream.
- Synthesis of important bio-chemicals from sugars and other sources.
The protein chemistry performed in the liver is perhaps its most essential role. A few of these functions are:
- Synthesis of fatty acids from amino acids and sugars.
- Synthesis of lipoproteins, cholesterol and phospholipids.
- The oxidation of fat for energy creating large quantities of acetyl coenzyme Aand acetoacetic acid which are used for synthesis and energy respectively.
- The deamination and decarboxylation of amino acids.
- The conversion of ammonia to urea which is then eliminated by the kidneys.
- Synthesis and interconversion of amino acids.
- Synthesis of blood serum proteins including coagulation proteins.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Who is likely to be deficient?
As it is not an essential nutrient, no deficiency state exists.
How much is usually taken?
The recommended amount depends on the concentration, method of preparation, and quality of the liver extract.
Are there any side effects or interactions?
No side effects or adverse reactions have been reported. Liver extracts should not be used by people suffering from iron-storage disorders, such as hemochromatosis. As the liver is a major filtering organ for many potentially toxic environmental chemicals, some doctors are concerned that consumption of liver extracts may result in increased intake of these chemicals.
