Natural Sources Raw Thyroid uses raw tissue concentrate imported from New Zealand are made from toxin-free lyophilized glands from animals grazed on rangeland free of pesticides, growth hormones, antibiotics or chemical additives.
The thyroid gland surrounds the windpipe at the base of the neck. It produces a number of hormones, pirmarily thyroxine, that accelerate the basal metabolic rate and thus directly influence circulation, respiration, and tissuegrowth and repair. Thyroxine is also central to sexuality in women, providing a glandular link between the brain the organs of reproduction.The other principal thyroid hormone is calcitonin, which inhibits the release of calcium from bone and plays a central role inmaintaining both calcium balance and strong bones.

Hyperthyroidism
Hyperthyroidism the name given to overproduction of thyrozine, causes extreme nervousness and irritability, increased heart rate and blood pressure, and weight loss. Underproduction of thyrozine, or hypothyroidism, results in dry skin, brittle nails, and a lack of energy in adults. Goiter, which is actually an enlarged thyroid, is a sign of thyroid insufficiency. In infants, hypothyroidism can be devastating, inhibiting physical development and causing irreversible mental retardation.
Hypothyroidism
Hypothyroidism is a condition in which the thyroid gland fails to function adequately, resulting in reduced levels of thyroid hormone in the body. Cretinism is a type of hypothyroidism that occurs at birth and results in stunted physical growth and mental development. Severe hypothyroidism is called myxedema.
There are many causes of hypothyroidism. One common cause is Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, an autoimmune disease of the thyroid gland. Another common cause of hypothyroidism is medical treatment, such as surgery or radiation to the thyroid gland, to treat hyperthyroidism (over-activity of the thyroid gland). Some drugs, such as lithium and phenylbutazone, may also induce hypothyroidism. Extreme iodine deficiency, which is rare in the United States, is another possible cause. Failure of the pituitary gland or hypothalamus to stimulate the thyroid gland properly can cause a condition known as secondary hypothyroidism.
Some people with goiter (an enlargement of the thyroid gland) also have hypothyroidism. Goiter can be caused by an iodine deficiency, by eating foods that contain goitrogens (goiter-causing substances), or by other disorders that interfere with thyroid hormone production. In many cases the cause of goiter cannot be determined. While natural therapies may help to some extent, thyroid hormone replacement is necessary for most people with hypothyroidism.

I've been on synthetic hormone replacement for five years. After trying this for three weeks, I feel so much better. I also found the raw adrenal helps too. Worth a try ladies.

excellent product! this really is great at balancing out all of your glands. it has pituitary gland and spleen along with thyroid. If your thyroid is low, this is an awesome way to get everything working. The energy difference I feel is amazing! no more grogginess after dinner. On the very few days that I forgot to take it, I felt like a slug. No energy and it's amazing once you get used to the energy - to go back to how it was before is torture! I'd much rather take this every day than a prescription medication for my thyroid. Awesome product, highly recommend!

I love this product and prefer it to any prescription medication for my thyroid. I notice that I always have plenty of energy in my busy day when I take it, but if I run out, I begin to get emotional and lethargic. Thank you Lucky Vitamin for offering this product!

I take this product for low thyroid problems. It's good to have an alternative to the prescription drugs. I am also happy that it comes from bovine and not pork.

i bought these vitamins for my boyfriend. i know he has thyroid problems, he has all the symptoms, however his doctor says his labwork is fine. so i searched and found these. typically, he would arrive home from work and head straight to the couch, or bed. it has been about a month now, and i can see a huge difference. after work now he has been working in the yard every day. he is also sleeping better. he even looks better, he is smiling more. we will definately be purchasing more of these vitamins, as well as checking out what else this company has to offer!
