SinusCleanse Nasal washing (also known as nasal irrigation or jala neti) is a personal hygiene practice that involves flooding the nasal cavity with warm saline solution (salt water). This soothing action removes excess mucus and moisturizes the nasal cavity.
Nasal Washing Safety Washing the nose with saline solution is a centuries-old practice that improves sinus and nasal health for millions of people around the world. Nasal washing with a neti pot is recommended by doctors for patients who suffer from various sinus and nasal conditions. The cleanliness of the solution used in the nose is, of course, of critical importance.
Naegleri fowleri is a rare amoeba that can live in warm stagnant water. If this amoeba enters the nose, it can travel into the brain where it can cause a rapidly fatal infection. This infection is exceptionally rare, and in the United States, can be contracted after swimming or diving in lakes or hot springs mostly in the southern part of the country and usually between the July and September months when water temperatures are consistently over 80 degrees. The amoeba organism cannot survive in salt water, in properly treated swimming pools or municipal water supplies, or in water heated to over 117 degrees Farenheit (water boils at 212 degrees Farenheit).
Concern has recently arisen about nasal washing being another way to introduce water contaminated by Naegleri fowleri into the nose.
The SinuCleanse™ nasal wash systems are safe to use with any clean water supply, including bottled water, distilled water or previously boiled water, cooled to body temperature before use.
Below are some additional, simple steps you can take to ensure your safety each and every time.
Use bottled water, distilled water or previously boiled water cooled to body temperature before use. Keep it clean. Thoroughly clean the pot with hot water and a little antibacterial soap after each use. The SinuCleanse™ Neti Pot is also top-rack dishwasher safe.
About Med-Systems, Inc. Med-Systems, Inc., was founded in 1997 by Dr. Diane Heatley, a leading ear, nose and throat physician based in Madison, Wisconsin and Dave Gallo. Traditionally, neti pots are manufactured in ceramic or glass. These tend to break, particularly when used by children whose hands are slippery with water and may drop them in unforgiving locations like the bathroom sink. To address this, Dr. Heatley helped develop the SinuCleanse™ System's first product, the SinuCleanse™ Neti Pot– an unbreakable plastic version of the traditional yoga nasal washing pot, complete with pre-packaged instructions for use and 100% all-natural pharmaceutical-grade dry saline ingredients.
The SinuCleanse™ System was first launched in pharmacies in and around Wisconsin. Following the success of the SinuCleanse™ Neti Pot, Med-Systems, Inc. introduced the SinuCleanse™ Squeeze™ for those who prefer using positive pressure to wash their sinuses. Patent-pending anti-backflow technology was first introduced in the SinuCleanse™ Squeeze™ and is now available in the entire product line.
Med-Systems, Inc. is headquartered in Madison, Wisconsin and has operations and distribution throughout the United States, Canada, and South Africa

I recommend this product!
A bit strong since they do not contain aloe. I have been using a brand that does and is much easier on my sensitive sinuses. On the other hand, it seems to do the intended job but just not comfortable for me.
