Triple Leaf Tea Blood Pressure Tea contains herbs that the Chinese have used in this delicious, mild-tasting tea for thousands of years to help maintain healthy blood pressure function and to tonify the kidneys and liver. These herbs are said to nourish the kidneys and liver, calm liver yang and clear heat. Eucommia is highly esteemed as a longevity herb. In modern times, it has been researched for helping to maintain healthy blood pressure function. Uncaria, Chinese holly, loranthus, chrysanthemum, and epimedium have a long history of use to tonify the kidney and liver. Fo-ti is a renowned longevity herb, used traditionally to help nourish the blood, build the system and tonify the kidney and liver. Regular tonification of the kidney and liver was believed to contribute to good health and longevity. It also was considered to help promote the healthy function of the back, bladder and joints.

Triple Leaf Tea Frequently Asked Questions

How much caffeine does Triple Leaf Tea's Green Tea have? How does that compare to coffee and black tea?
Green tea naturally has approximately 15 to 50 mg of caffeine per cup. Coffee has 80-200 mg/cup. Black Tea has 40-90 mg/cup.

How much caffeine is in the Decaf Green Tea?
No more than 0.4% caffeine remains in Triple Leaf Decaf Green Tea. That means one tea bag (2000 mg) of 100% decaffeinated green tea contains 8 mg or less of caffeine.

What happens to the antioxidant content when you decaffeinate the Decaf Green Tea?
Triple Leaf Tea uses a natural carbon dioxide process to decaffeinate the green tea leaves. This process removes the caffeine, leaves no chemical residue, and maintains almost all of the beneficial antioxidants in the tea leaves.

How do you brew green, white and herbal teas?
Green Teas and Cholesterid Tea: Pour one cup of boiling water over a tea bag. Let steep 3-5 minutes. Remove the tea bag, and squeeze it gently into the cup. To extract more of tea’s benefits, steep 5 minutes. Normally, over-steeping green teas can make them bitter, however, Triple Leaf Tea green teas are very mild and have little bitterness, so you can steep them longer, according to your taste. They recommend steeping the Decaf Green Tea with Ginseng and the Ginkgo and Decaf Green Tea longer, from 5-10 minutes, or longer, to get the full benefits of the herbs in these teas. These teas do not get bitter with longer steeping.

White Tea: Bring one cup of water to a boil. Remove from the heat, then pour it over a tea bag. Let steep 3-5 minutes. To extract more of tea’s benefits and white tea flavor, steep longer. In Chinese tradition, white tea is brewed longer than green tea and can be re-brewed.

Herbal Teas: Pour one cup of boiling water over a tea bag. Let steep 10-15 minutes, or longer. Squeeze the tea bag gently into the cup. Leave the tea bag in the cup as you are drinking the tea. To extract more of tea’s benefits, use the longer steeping time. A tea bag can be re-used to extract more herbal benefits. The Ginger Tea and American Ginseng Tea are made from 100% pure root, and can be boiled for a few minutes to extract more flavor and benefits. Be sure to re-use these tea bags a few times to get all their flavor and benefits.

Iced Teas: Pour one cup of boiling water over two tea bags. Let steep 5 minutes for green, white and Cholesterid teas, and 10-15 minutes or longer for herbal teas. For more flavor and benefits, steep longer, depending on the tea (see above). Remove the tea bags, squeeze them out gently into the cup, then add ice and enjoy. Try any of Triple Leaf Tea green, white or Cholesterid teas iced, just the way you drink regular iced tea. They are good brewed as is, or with lemon and your favorite sweetener. Their Ginger Tea also makes a delicious iced tea. All of their herbal teas can be enjoyed hot or iced.

Can I mix more than one tea in a cup?
That depends on which teas you want to mix. Some of Triple Leaf Tea teas like the Cold & Flu Time Tea are special Chinese formulas, which are better taken by themselves. Both the Sugar Balance & Women's Tonic Tea with Dong Quai, and the Horny Goat Weed Tea, can be used together with the American Ginseng Tea for additional benefits. They recommend using the Detox Tea by itself, or use it along with the Herbal Laxative Tea, or any of the diet teas. You can drink the Detox one to three times a day or more, but drink the diet teas or Herbal Laxative Tea as needed usually once a day after dinner or before bedtime for up to a week. To use longer, consult your health care practitioner.

How do the diet teas work?
All three diet teas are traditional herbal beverages used in China for generations. These teas were popular with those concerned with cleansing and digestion. They contain senna, an herbal stimulant laxative. When dieting, follow a balanced weight loss diet and the advice of your health care professional. Be sure to include plenty of fresh vegetables, fruits, juices and pure water. These teas are not recommended for children, elderly, or sick people, or pregnant women and nursing mothers.

Which diet tea should I take: Dieter’s Green Herbal Tea, Super Slimming Tea, or Ultra Slim Tea?
Each diet tea has a different formula to suit different body types. They all contain senna, an herbal stimulant laxative, and all three help promote cleansing. The Dieter's Green Herbal Tea is Triple Leaf Tea's basic formula and is their most popular diet tea. The Super Slimming Tea is their most potent formula and has herbs that help promote digestion. Dieter’s Green Herbal Tea and Super Slimming Tea contain licorice root, known in traditional Chinese medicine as "The Great Detoxifier." The Ultra Slim Tea has more herbs for digestion and to help ease bloating, and, in traditional Chinese medicine terms "move the Chi (energy)." Triple Leaf Tea recommends that you try each of their diet teas, and see which one you like best. You can contact them for a free sample of each.

Which teas will aid in bowel movements?
Try Herbal Laxative Tea, Dieter's Green Herbal Tea, Super Slimming Tea, or Ultra Slim Tea. Use these along with the Triple Leaf Detox Tea for additional support in cleansing.

Do Triple Leaf Tea chlorine bleach your teabags?
No, Triple Leaf tea bags are oxygen bleached rather than chlorine bleached. Chlorine bleaching of paper, including tea bags and coffee filters, creates a dioxin chemical residue in the paper and waste water from the paper mill. Dioxin is a known potent carcinogen that they want to avoid.

Does Triple Leaf Tea use recycled material and biodegradable inks on your packaging? Is your packaging recyclable?
Triple Leaf Tea boxes are made of recycled paperboard and printed with biodegradable inks. Their boxes, paper tea envelopes and the brochure inserted into the tea box are fully recyclable.

My blood pressure has always been on the lower side 90/60. I went to the doctor on 1/11/11 and found my BP was 128/83, this was extremely disappointing to me. I found this tea at an Asian Food Store the same day and started drinking it. So happen I returned to the doctor for an unrelated problem on 1/19/11 and my BP was 120/60, that's greater than 20 points for the lower number which is very important, and 8 points for the systolic pressure. This is very good for 2 days x 3 cups of tea. It really works!
