Jarrow Formulas Inositol is readily absorbed and used to produce the active inositides as necessary. The various forms of inositol (phosphatidylinositol and inositides such as IP3) are active in cell-to-cell communication, (e.g., transmission of nerve impulses). Tissues that are affected include the brain, liver and muscles. Jarrow Formulas Inositol is an indirect source of glucuronic acid, which is essential to liver detoxification. Inositol is derived from rice bran and is made in Japan by Tsuno Rice Company.

Inositol is part of the vitamin B-complex. It is required for proper formation of cell membranes.
Where is it found?
Nuts, beans, wheat and wheat bran, cantaloupe, and oranges are excellent sources of inositol. Most dietary inositol is in the form of phytate.
