Nature's Herbs Aloe Vera Inner Leaf delivers 250 mg of aloe vera inner leaf per capsule. In addition, Nature's Herbs added 27 mg of fennel seed, which has long history of use as a digestive aid.

The earliest use of the aloe vera plant can be traced back to Egypt, 6,000 years ago. The plant, which was presented as a burial gift to deceased pharaohs, was considered the “plant of immortality,” and was portrayed on ancient stone carvings. Chinese healers have used aloe vera juice, obtained from cells of the inner leaf’s skin.

The aloe plant originally came from Africa. The leaves, which are long, green, fleshy, and have spikes along the edges, are used medicinally. The fresh leaf gel and latex are used for many purposes. Aloe latex is the sticky residue left over after the liquid from cut aloe leaves has evaporated.

Historical or Traditional Use
Aloe has been historically used for many of the same conditions for which it is used today—particularly constipation and minor cuts and burns. In India, it has been used by herbalists to treat intestinal infections, suppressed menses, and colic.
