Q Are your products safe for chemically and/or color treated hair?
A All Giovanni pH balanced shampoos and conditioners will gently cleanse and condition without drying or stripping most natural and color treated hair. They use mild gentle surfactants (foaming agents) and their products contain no sodium lauryl/laureth sulfates, or other harsh chemicals found in many brands.
Q Where are your products made?
A All of their finished products are made in sunny Southern California, except for their lip balm which is made in New Mexico.
Q Are your products hypoallergenic?
A Hypoallergenic is a term coined by advertisers (based on the Greek prefix hypo meaning "below normal" or "slightly") and first used in a cosmetics campaign in 1953. Any consumer could at any time, find themselves allergic to any ingredient. Giovanni uses ingredients that are mild and plant based so allergic reactions are rare. However, it is recommended when using any new product to do a patch test on your skin

A Their product formulations contain ingredients that are derived from a variety of sources and combinations of derivatives. They are manufactured where products with gluten are also produced. When synthetic fragrance is used in certain products it is necessary to ensure product stability.

As I've gotten older, my scalp seems to have gotten oilier, producing a lot of sebum and accompaying itchiness. I've tried the usual dandruff shampoos, even prescription Nizoral which does a better job than the other shampoos but only just manages to keep the oiliness and itchiness at bay. The Giovanni tea tree tiple treat shampoo, however, has been fabulous. It gets rid of almost all the oiliness AND the itchiness. The shampoo lathers well and tingles on the scalp in a very good way even after rinsing. The formulation seems similar to the Trader Joe's Tea Tree shampoo (which is entirely organic), but the Giovanni seems to have a few additional (synthetic) compounds that seem to make a huge difference in terms of the lather and thoroughness of the efficacy.

This shampoo is amazing! The tea tree oil leaves your hair squeaky clean while killing bacteria and controlling oil. The peppermint gives your scalp a tingly feeling stimulating the hair for a little bit of volume and extra shine! I recommend this product to anyone!

Both of my boys have bad scalp issues. Our stylist recommended Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Shampoo. It did nothing. I ordered this, and have not seen a flake or them itching their heads since! This is a great natural product! Thanks Lucky Vitamin for another great product.

This shampoo smells fantastic! It gets your hair literally squeaky clean and makes your hair feel so light after you rinse. I think it would be best for those who style their hair day to day or want to have their natural hair type tidy. It cuts frizz but sort of leaves your hair feeling like you've put a flexible hair spray in it which is why I gave 4 stars instead of 5 and recommend it for those who style their hair. I usually just throw mine in a pony tail and let it air dry. This shampoo keeps my hair wavy which is not to my particular liking. But I know now that if I ever wanted to wear my hair naturally, I can with this shampoo. Overall a very good shampoo and the smell is outstanding! I plan to get the conditioner next time. Plus there's no harmful chemicals!

This shampoo is a life-saver during the winter months when your scalp is dry and itchy. As you lather up your hair you'll feel the ingredients tingling on your scalp. Your hair feels clean, not stripped, and it really does a good job on soothing the itch. The fragrance is clean and minty.

I really like this shampoo. It's great at clarifying my hair. I love the scent of tea tree oil, too, and how the shampoo makes my scalp feel tingly and extra clean. The only downside is that the shampoo is too clarifying to use every day on my curly hair, but that's actually okay because curly hair shouldn't be washed every day any way. I use Giovanni's Magnetic conditioner in conjunction with this shampoo and love the combination for my curly hair.

I love the minty scent and invigorating tingle of this shampoo. For me it is a very clarifying shampoo but it can leave my hair and scalp a little too dry and it does not help my seasonal dandruff as much as I hoped it would.

The best shampoo you will ever use! A must even for normal everyday washing! It doesn't strip your hair and leave it dry, it feels so light and clean after washing you feel like you just walked out of a salon! And when used with conditioner, nothing compares! Wether you have dandruff, itching or just want clean hair, this works better than any salon shampoo or medicated shampoo!!

I have to take a couple of medications and those those medicines come out in my hair.
This shampoo washes all that out. The first time I tried this shampoo, I brushed out a bushel of lint. It had been there forever, but the shampoo somehow made it easier to brush out.. I use it once a month, (other shampoo in between ) and always get comments on how shiny my hair looks.

ON my 3rd bottle of this. I really feel my hair very clean after using this. No sulfates, parabens--organic is the way to go. This washes all the gunk that has been on my hair from the other drugstore brands.

Smells great, feels invigorating. Not sure if it is totally chemical free, but I know that it doesn't have the well known nasty chemicals (i.e. Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Dimethcone, Parabens, etc.) and it doesn't strip the hair.

Definitely cools my scalp and feels good when I use it. It can sometimes dry me out, so be sure to use a conditioner with it or cycle it with another shampoo.

OMG! This product is INCREDIBLE! I am African-American and I just loved how clean and fresh my hair felt after the first use. You won't need to use much as it lathers really well. Used in conjuction with the Tea Tree Triple Treat conditioner, your hair will feel tingly clean. Loved it so much I wanted to get right back into the shower and wash my hair again! :). I can not get enought of this line of product! Especially when used in stereo with the body wash and conditioner. May be a little intense for some but for me its incredible. Sooo invigorating, makes every shower a very sensual experiance. Makes everything tingle, soo awesome. Also can't beat the prices on lucky vitamin.com so I always stock up :o9 yay!
