This mild, cleansing soap contains Jewelweed to help relieve itching and irritation. You'll also reap the antiseptic benefits of Pine Tar and Tea Tree oil, so you can enjoy the outdoors comfortably.

    Featured Ingredient
Pine Tar: Produced by distillation and applied externally, pine tar is used extensively in the treatment of skin afflictions because it is soothing and antiseptic.

Burt’s Bees Outdoor… Discover. Experience. Protect.
Burt’s Bees has created a special line of Outdoor products that treat and protect skin naturally, so you can make the most of the great outdoors while also helping sustain the environment. Burt's Bees Outdoor products’ eco-friendly formulas and packaging care for you and the environment:

    • Natural cleansers made from coconut and sunflower oils instead of sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS). SLS is a synthetic ingredient found in many face, hair and body products.. It is used as a foaming agent, and has no inherent moisturizing properties. Furthermore, SLS does not meet the standards of the Natural Product Association.
    • Beeswax and Japan Fruit Wax instead of petrolatum. Petrolatum is often found in over-the-counter skin care products and is a non-renewable hydrocarbon made from crude oil.
    • Titanium dioxide instead of oxybenzone. Oxybenzone is a synthetic active commonly found in sunscreens.
    • Sustainable packaging instead of non-recyclable, non-portable, or non-usable packaging that is still often used today. Our packaging protects the environment by using sustainable packaging that is portable, reusable or recyclable.

Discover the protecting power of natural ingredients on your next outdoor adventure!

    Burt's Bees Frequently Asked Questions
    Are your products hypoallergenic?
There is no defined methodology to test for allergic reactions in beauty or personal care products, nor does the FDA regulate use of the term "hypoallergenic." Consequently, Burt's Bees does not position their products as hypoallergenic. A list of ingredients for each product is available on individual product information pages on this site.

Are your products safe for pregnant women to use?
Burt's Bees recommends that any expectant mother check with her physician before changing her skin care routine with their products, or any other line of products.

How long will my Burt's Bees products stay fresh and what is the best way to store them?
Burt's Bees products are made with natural ingredients. They purposely present our products in smaller portions so you finish them while their ingredients are still fresh and providing their maximum effectiveness. As such, we recommend you store creams and oils in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight and heat. Creams may be stored in their cartons for extra protection.

Where are Burt's Bees products made?
Over 95% of Burt's Bees products are made right in their own manufacturing plant in Durham, NC. The rest are made by other respectable American manufacturers.

Do you test on animals and do your products contain animal-derived ingredients?
Burt's Bees does NOT conduct product or ingredient tests of any kind on animals. A few of their products contain ingredients derived from animals such as beeswax, royal jelly, milk and carmine.

I am allergic to bees. Can I still use your products?
Burt's Bees does not use actual bee venom in their products – only bee by products such as honey, beeswax, royal jelly and honey powder. However, if you are allergic to bee by-products, then Burt's Bees does not suggest using their products. They recommend that you contact your health care provider when changing your skin care regimen to find out which products are best for you.

What Burt's Bees is All About
Your well-being is affected every single day by the personal care products you use. Burt's Bees' goal is to create and educate people on truly natural products that have a positive effect on both you and the world you live in for the good of your well-being, for the good of the environment and for The Greater Good. Simply put, they strive to make people's lives better every day — naturally.

The Story Behind Burt's Bees Brand
Burt's Bees has come a long way from selling home-made beeswax lip balms and hand salves at local craft fairs, but their belief in creating truly natural products that are good for you and the environment hasn't changed.

Vegetable soap base, kaolin, avena sativa (oat) protein extract, melaleuca alternifolia (tea tree) leaf oil, pinus palustris (pine) wood tar, impatiens balsamina (jewelweed) leaf extract.

    Not tested on animals.

    About Burt's Bees

At Burt’s Bees, they scour the good earth to find the most natural, effective ingredients to put in our products. To Burt’s Bees, the word “natural” means only one thing. It means, “harvested from nature.” And they adhere to that definition like the strictest of school teachers. There are ingredients that you will never find in any Burt’s Bees product. Things like petroleum which can be toxic. Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, which is a harsh, aggressive ingredient used in certain beauty products. And when was the last time you saw a farmer growing Propylene Glycol? Rather than loading their products up with harsh chemicals or unnecessary fillers, they offer you only the good stuff.
