Carlson Labs Chelated Copper 250 Tablets
Carlson Labs Chelated Copper is prepared to aid the body's absorption of copper. The copper is chelated with glycine, an important amino acid in human nutrition. Chelation helps the body to transport minerals across the intestinal wall as part of digestion. Copper is an essential trace element present in the diet and in the human body needed to absorb and utilize iron. Copper is needed to make adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the energy the body runs on. Synthesis of some hormones requires copper, as does the synthesis of collagen (the "glue" that holds connective tissue together). In addition, the enzyme, tyrosinase, which plays a role in the production of skin pigment, requires copper to function.
Carlson Labs guarantees that this product is free of salt, preservatives, wheat, yeast, milk, soy and gluten. Chelated Copper is cellulose coated and only has its natural blue color. Tablet color variations naturally occur.
