Bragg Questions & Answers
What are Amino Acids? Amino Acids are the building blocks of all our organs and tissues. They are also the building blocks from which different food proteins are constructed. When we eat a protein food, such as meat or soybeans, the natural hydrochloric acid in the stomach digests the protein, releasing the Amino Acids. They are the link between the food we eat and assimilation for our body tissue. Lack of adequate Amino Acids may make it impossible for the vitamins and minerals to perform their specific duties.
What is the difference between Bragg Liquid Aminos and regular Soy Sauce? Bragg Liquid Aminos is a healthy alternative to Soy and Tamari sauce. No table salt or preservatives are added.
Are the soybeans used for Bragg Liquid Aminos genetically engineered? Their Liquid Aminos are third party certified non-GMO. GMO soybeans are produced by Monsanto, and sold under the brand name Roundup Ready. These soybeans are altered to resist the herbicide glyphosate, and have been available since 1995. Bragg Live Foods buys its Liquid Aminos ingredients from a combine soy operation which, in turn, buys the soybeans from numerous sources in the central part of the United States. No Roundup Ready soybeans are purchased as part of this collective method, nore are they used in Bragg products
If there is no salt in the Liquid Aminos, where does the salty taste come from? The salty taste comes from the soybeans that are used to make Bragg Liquid Aminos. There is no salt added of any kind (land or sea). The naturally occurring sodium from the soybeans is approx. 160 mg. per 1/2 tsp.
Is it OK for a person on a low-salt or sodium diet to use Liquid Aminos? It is OK for an individual on a low-salt or sodium diet to have small amounts of the Liquid Aminos (just a few teaspoons) a day for seasoning. Bragg Liquid Aminos are not recommended for persons on no-salt or sodium diets.
Are Liquid Aminos Kosher certified? Yes.
Should Bragg Liquid Aminos be refrigerated? Bragg Liquid Aminos does not need to be refrigerated, either before or after opening/using, as it has a 3-5 year shelf life. However, we recommend that you keep the product out of direct sunlight, in a relatively cool location.
Where is the expiration date printed? The Bragg Liquid Aminos expiration date is printed on the upper portion of the bottle, above the label, at the shoulder and neck taper area. Due to the dark color of the Liquid Aminos, the stamping can be difficult to find. We suggest tilting the bottle until the air bubble in the bottle is under the shoulder area, then slowly rotate the bottle until the expiration date stamping becomes visible, see photo below. The lower line of the 2 contains the expiration date. The upper line contains the 'lot' number for manufacturer reference and the time, in 24 hour format, that it was bottled. Bragg Liquid Aminos has a shelf life of 5 years; although due to its nature, Bragg Liquid Aminos can be safely used for many years after expiration.
What is the Nutritional content of Bragg Liquid Aminos? The Average Nutritional Breakdown per 1/2 Teaspoon is:
Are Bragg Liquid Aminos Gluten Free? Yes.
Are their Bragg Liquid Aminos safe for people with peanut, gluten (wheat), and tree nut allergies? Yes. The equipment they use to make Bragg Liquid Aminos is dedicated and not contaminated
What is the shelf life of Bragg Liquid Aminos? The shelf life for an unopened bottle of Bragg Liquid Aminos (stored in a cool location) is 3 years from the production date. They recommend that opened bottles best be used within 3 to 6 months in order to maintain quality, freshness, and flavor.

The Bragg Liquid Aminos is the winner when it comes to making soups. I love the taste of sweetness when making vegetable soups. Some condiments contain a lot of sodium. Add 15 ml (one tablespoon) of soy sauce to your meal, and you've added 1,005 mg of sodium. I would prefer 110-160mg sodium from Bragg than 1,005 mg of soy sauce. No wonder I had to throw out the entire soup by adding the soy sauce instead of Bragg because the taste changed to bitterness than sweet and fragrance taste. Sodium also occurs naturally in some foods such as meat, dairy products and vegetables. Your body needs only 500 mg of sodium per day to function under normal circumstances. Well it fulfills my need due my diet are mostly from the fresh vegetables, fruits, soymilk, and tofu.

This product is absolutely amazing! I use it in dressings, marinades and more! It has just the right hint of salt to subside my cravings for salty foods! The best thing is that the sodium content is minimal! You won't regret it if you give this product a try! And you will always make sure you have it stocked!
-
This product is great - not only is it a salt replacement (it's has a salty taste), but it's adds an nice flavor - that combines nicely with other flavors. I like it in rice, brown pasta, steel-cut oats (I don't eat these sweet), tomato-based sauces -- really you could put it in anything (see the recommendations printed on the bottle's label). Tastes good with chicken and anything else that you needs salt/flavor. The Liquid Aminos itself has an interesting kick. It combines especially well with blander foods that lend themselves well to accepting other strong flavors/tastes. Love that it's non-GMO. Enjoy!

I cannot live without my Braggs. It's great on salads, meat marinade, eggs, veggies, whatever you want for a little boost of extra taste. It's similar to soy sauce but is fresher tasting and is not fermented so better for you. Also, it is 100% protein and has no calories. I have my friends hooked on it.
-
This is the best tasting "soy sauce" I have ever had. I have been usng this product for over five years - for salads, on meats, vegetables, for dressings (salad, vegetable, meatloaf) and I will not use "real" soy sauce ever again. This tastes better and has health benefits as well. I believe that this liquid aminoes is as good as it gets.
-

-
My children love this on pasta. We have been buying this for years. Lucky Vitamin ships this carefully since it is liquid. I have never had one spill in transit plus there is a protective seal on plastic container to keep it from opening in transport.
-

-
The best food seasoning ever! I use this stuff in practically everything. It makes a great salad topper also.
-
As long as they can guarantee that they are using GMO-free products, I will continue to use this product - it is the BEST substitute for soy sauce ever and has a wonderful flavor.
-
This is the best soy sauce substitute makes great marinades and way less sodium but doesn't lose quality or taste.
-
-
very happy with my purchase
-
The best stuff out there!
-
excellent product-have used for many years and will continue to use-many benefits
-
It leaked in transit, but only a bit spilled out. the seal was compromised.
-
I didn't do enough research before buying this product. Not Lucky Vitamin's fault at all but, as far as I can tell, this product is likely made by mixing sulfuric acid with soybean byproducts. That's not the bad part. Once the soybean breaks down (into liquid aminos), a neutralizer is added to it and that unfortunately creates other undesirable byproducts according to some chemists. Scared me so much that I actually dumped it out.
-
I love using the Bragg's amino in place of regular soy sauce.Tastes great and feels healthier.
-
Packed well and arrived in good time. I use the liquid amion acid as a substitute for soy sauce and also take one tablespoon a day. Still going strong.....
