Advanced Research Lithium Orotate 120 mg. is a quality health care supplement product formulated by Hans A. Nieper, M.D. Lithium is the most common element used for stabilizing mood swings, mania and depression. Lithium orotate (the lithium salt of orotic acid) is 20 times more bio-active than other lithium salts, allowing a reduction in dosage greatly reducing the likelihood and severity of potential side effects. Each 120 mg capsule provides 4.8 elemental lithium. Lithium Orotate may be effective in treating manic-depressive and bi-polar illness but best avoided by those on a sodium free diet or who are diabetic. NCI Advanced Research Lithium Orotate. Orotates are mineral salts of orotic acid - used by plants and animals to make DNA and RNA. Hans Nieper, a physician and dabbler in off-beat theories of gravitation, used orotates clinically from before 1980 and continued to use them until his death in 1998. He thought thatorotate salts, being neutrally charged, pass easily through cell membranes. In effect, orotate ferries the mineral atoms into cells and tissues, producing higher concentrations.
Nieper promoted orotates as treatments for nearly every ailment imaginable and was consequently ignored; most of his medical claims were never rigorously tested. Lithium orotate should get as much press as 5-HTP and St. John's wort if not more. It has quite literally cured my social phobia, keeps me level-headed and gives me a sense of well-being. It allows me to be the person I want to be consistantly.

My husband uses this to even out his moods, he can definately tell the difference when he doesn't take it. Once when he ran out of this one, he took a different kind, it did not work half as well.

I buy this for my husband and it really does work in smoothing out his bad moods and temper issues. I was buying a more expensive brand and then became aware of this product which is so much more reasonably priced. I've told several people about it too. LIfe is so much more pleasant since we discovered lithium orotate. I highly reccommend it.

Lithium Orotate is a wonderful supplement and this brand is an inexpensive as you can find. A family member takes this for Bi-polar, another for headaches and I use it to soften the crystals attached to my joints from too much uric acid in my system (gout). Google Dr. Jonathan V. I began taking this product for Bipolar 2 Disorder. I have never been manic, but do have recurring bouts of severe depression. The only medication that worked for my when I was being treated by a doctor was Lithium Carbonate, but I could not tolerate the side effects. After much research I settled on Lithium Orotate and this product in particular. I can tell a marked difference in my mood stability. I just feel "normal" and better able to meet my responsibilities.

This product is extremely helpful for children with autism who suffer from the effects of high androgens, mood swings, aggressive behaviors and who have speech, language and auditory processing issues. Lithium is the key mineral that transports folate in the brain for the methylation process to work. Without lithium 5-methyltetrahydro folate cannot get into the brain (cerebral folate deficiency).
