Organic Cotton Tampons With Applicator Super by Natracare Natracare tampons were developed as a direct response to health and environmental concerns about dioxin pollution caused by chlorine bleaching, the extensive use of pesticide spraying on conventionally grown cotton, and the use of rayon and other synthetics in tampons. Many women are unaware that rayon and rayon-cotton blends are widely used in the manufacture of tampons. Rayon is commonly chlorine-bleached, and is a highly absorbent fibre. Dioxin, a toxic carcinogen, is a by-product of all chlorine bleaching methods and is also found throughout the environment in varying levels as a by-product of pesticide spraying and pollution from incinerators. Dioxin has been found to collect in the fatty tissues of animals, including humans and should, therefore, be a real concern for women. Published scientific reports have shown that evidence is growing that even low levels of dioxins may be linked to cancer, endometriosis, low sperm counts and immune system suppression. Considering a woman may use as many as 11,000 tampons in her lifetime, she may be subjecting herself to additional dioxin exposure. Natracare tampons are made from only certified organic 100% cotton and are the only fully certified organic cotton tampons available in the world today. They are non-chlorine bleached and women can be reassured that they do not contain synthetic materials, such as rayon, or chemical additives such as binders or surfactants. Certified organic cotton removes the risk of direct exposure to residues from chemical pesticides and fertilisers used on traditional cotton.

Natracare's Super absorbency tampon with applicator is just as reliable, comfortable and easy to insert as any other tampon with cardboard applicator. I use the super absorbency on heavy days, regular on lighter days - one box of each (16 tampons per box) usually lasts through two monthly cycles. I do experience some leakage - but I always did when I used Tampax too. Bottom line: works as well as any other tampon, doesn't cost that much more (especially if you get them on Lucky!), they're biodegradable - and you won't be exposing your body to unnecessary chemicals or potential toxins every month. I've been using this brand for years and enthusiastically recommend them to any woman looking for a safer, more environmentally friendly tampon.

The Natra care tampons are excellent. They are highly absorbant, comfortable, and create no rashes or other problems associated with "unnatural" tampons. Very happy to have found this company.

Natracare Organic cotton tampons are the only tampons I will use now. I used to be a hard core Pearls fan. I have many sensitivities and decided to switch to organic cotton just to see. verdict: I won't go back! I would hesitate to use a traditional tampon now even in a pinch...the chemicals and plastics used in the actual tampon (yes, I said plastic in the tampon!) of traditional brands gave me more cramps and heavier bleeding. I feel better using these: both physically and environmentally.
And because I don't bleed as heavy, I use less of them.

Easy to apply. Feels much more comfortable than the non-organic brand I used to use. Only this one leaked a bit more.

Natracare is a quality product with no unneccessary chemicals. Their tampons give me confidence and allow me to play sports and swim without being worried of leakage.

These are aborbent and come with an easy-to-use applicator. A great alternative to conventional toxic bleached tampons.

It's really nice to have organic tampons for special occasions and such. These are just fine. For "super" these could be more absorbant, and they can be a bit uncomfortable during insertion.

Won't use any other product. Card board applicator is a little stiff...but it's a small price to pay considering that you are getting a very safe and effective product.

I purchased these tampons since they are not bleached or have any other chemicals. That's important to me. I have found them to be very absorbant. I sometimes find the cardboard applicator not 100% comfortable, but usually it's fine.

I was looking for organic cotton tampons. I emailed the company and learned that the cotton is from country of Turkey. I was relieved to learn it wasn't from China, as I've heard there are issues with so-called organics from China.

I really like these tampons. I discovered this brand after I had surgery and ended up buying their pads. These tampons don't have that icky rayon coating on the outside of the tampon and still work just as well as store brand tampons. Will purchase again.
