Seventh Generation Disinfecting Multi-Surface Cleaner kills over 99.99% of household germs, specifically: Influenza A, Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella enterica, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Escherichia coli on hard, nonporous surfaces. Benefits of Disinfecting Household Surfaces
Regular cleaning products do a good job of removing soil, but only disinfectants or disinfectant cleaners (also known as antibacterial cleaners) kill the germs that can cause many illnesses. Surfaces like kitchen and bathroom counters, door knobs, toilet seats and children's toys may be contaminated with bacteria even when they're not visibly soiled. Germs can be spread to other surfaces on dirty cleaning cloths and sponges. Products that claim to kill germs must meet efficacy requirements and guidelines established by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and must be registered with EPA and carry an EPA registration number on their label. In order for surfaces to be effectively disinfected, the instructions on product labels need to be followed carefully.
What is seasonal influenza (flu)? Seasonal influenza, commonly called "the flu," is caused by influenza viruses, which infect the respiratory tract (i.e., the nose, throat, lungs). Unlike many other viral respiratory infections, such as the common cold, the flu can cause severe illness and life-threatening complications in many people. The best way to prevent seasonal flu is by getting a seasonal flu vaccination each year. In the United States, on average 5% to 20% of the population gets the flu; more than 200,000 people are hospitalized from seasonal flu-related complications, and; about 36,000 people die from seasonal flu-related causes. Some people, such as older people, young children, pregnant women, and people with certain health conditions, are at high risk for serious flu complications.
The 2009-2010 flu season could be worse. There is a new and very different flu virus spreading worldwide among people called 2009 H1N1 flu. This virus may cause more illness or more severe illness than usual.
What are the symptoms of the flu?
Influenza is a respiratory illness. Symptoms of the flu include fever, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body aches, headache, chills and fatigue. Some people may also have vomiting and diarrhea.
Suggested Use
Directions For Use: It is a violation of Federal law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling. For heavily soiled or greasy areas, pre-cleaning is required.
To Clean: Wet the surface with the spray & wipe clean. For stubborn stains, let stand for a few minutes. Allow to penetrate, then wipe clean.
To Disinfect: Wet the surface with the spray (spot test to check compatibility). Leave for 10 minutes. Allow to air-dry. No rinsing or wiping is required, except on direct food contact surfaces which require a water rinse after treatment.
Storage & Disposal: Store airtight at room temperature. Nonrefillable container. Do not reuse or refill this empty container. Offer empty container for recycling. If recyling is not available, discard in trash. WarningsKeep out of reach of children.

Thymol (component of thyme oil), Sodium lauryl sulfate (palm kernel or coconut-derived cleaning agent), copper sulfate pentahydrate (bluestone) (mineral derived water mineralizer), citric acid (cornstarch derived water softener), essential oils and botanical extracts* (origanum vulgare (oregano) oil, cedrus atlantica (blue atlas cedar) bark oil, citrus medica limonum (lemon) peel oil, cymbopogon schoenanthus (lemongrass) oil, citrus medica limonum (lemon) fruit extract, mentha citrata (orange bergamot mint) leaf extract, aqua (water)
*Limonene and Citral are components of these essential oils.

This product is used to clean the bath tub before each use before bathtime. It does leave a clean feel and a fresh scent. I two young children under three and things happen during bathtime. I trust this product to cleanse the tub and allow no harsh chemicals to tant my childrens' delicate skin. I have used for well over a year now. I love it!!

I love this stuff. My only compliant is that it leaves a film on the floor, so I can't use it there. But, oddly enough, it wipes clean off of everything else - countertops, appliances, sinks, etc.

I use it primarily in the bathroom so I don't have to worry about disinfecting surfaces. The scent is pleasant and not medicinal.

Very disappointed. They don't even give you the ingredients on the bottle. Lucky Vitamin does. But this product's second ingredient is sodium lauryl sulfate. Every thing I read says to stay away from this. Seventh Generation uses it another product I purchases. They tell you it is safe for babies which is why I bought it, but sodium lauryl sulfate is cheap and I stay away from it. My fault for not checking into it before I bought it and to heavy to return. I called Seventh Generation and they said it is safe, but I disagree and will never buy another Seventh Generation product. Check out sodium lauryl sulfate online. Even cheap shampoo manufacturers have started to leave those ingredients out because people are wising up.

love the cleaner, but not crazy about the smell. The smell doesn't matter though cause it's nice to have a safe disinfecting cleaner I and my kids can use safely!
