Method - Laundry Detergent 50 Loads Fresh Air - 20 oz.

Methods New laundry detergent is made with smartclean technology™, a patent-pending formula using a radical technology to deliver outstanding cleaning power but with 1/4th the dose of the leading national brand. so 50 loads in one lil' bottle that works in H.E. + standard machines. 4 pumps = Load.

      huh?
We'll explain. getting your clothes clean requires cleaning agents that are made up of surfactants. surfactants bond to dirt and stains in the wash, lifting them up and washing them away in the rinse cycle. Conventional laundry detergents have surfactants suspended in H20. Methods flips that on its head - surfactants outside, H20 inside so a little is all you need - four pumps to be exact.

      No Mess Dosing
The unique and easy to use precision-dosing pump means no drips and no unneeded detergent dosed into the machine. it's a dirty little secret of laundry that those jug caps can often lead you to use more detergent than anyone ever needs.with Methods custom-designed precision pump system, you use exactly as much detergent as you need to get your clothes amazingly-clean, with no messy drips.

A revolutionary detergent calls for revolutionary packaging. our laundry detergent's design offers you a better experience with a no-mess, precision-dosing pump that is simple enough for everyone to use and eliminates wasted detergent. (plus, we've discovered using a pump is kinda fun.) forget fumbling with the drippy cap and hard to read pour lines - four easy pumps is all you need to get your wash on.

and the compact, lightweight bottle fits in one hand (and most purses) so you can lighten your load - particularly handy if you've got a trek to the laundromat or a baby on your hip.
high-powered, plant-based formula is made using 95% natural and renewable ingredients. it's readily biodegradable and non-toxic in use, for skin-friendly clean clothes. curious? we're completely transparent about our ingredients, so check them out for yourself.

Thanks to oMethods ultra concentrated formula, they could design a teeny package that requires less energy to produce and creates less waste. our bottle uses over 36% less plastic compared to traditional 2x detergents and 50% of that comes from recycled plastics.

      The result?
Meet the world's first Cradle to CradleCM certified laundry detergent, thanks to its comprehensive green design. and like other method products, it's recognized by the US EPA's DfE program for its safer chemistry.

The patent-pending smartclean technology™ cuts out the excess water that dilutes most leading detergents. in fact, our product uses drastically less water, 36% less plastic and requires 33% less energy and oil to produce than widely available 2x detergent.* and, the unique precision-dosing pump means no overdosing and no drips, so you truly get the loads that you pay for. all that, and it comes in a compact, recyclable bottle made from 50% recycled plastic (PCR for those in the know).

All method products contain natural ingredients. When you see the word "natural" on a method label, it means that 100% of its functional cleaning ingredients - things like soaps, detergents, solvents and enzymes - are either found in nature or derived from natural sources.

We use natural and naturally derived materials from renewable or abundant sources wherever we can. If we can't find a natural ingredient to get the job done, we'll use a safe, green, man-made version instead. In all cases, we only use ingredients that have passed through a comprehensive green and health screen: ingredients we have confirmed to be totally safe for people and safe for the environment.

"Natural" is still not a standardized or regulated term. So while we could, we won't call a product "natural" if even one of its functional ingredients isn't natural or naturally derived. When it comes to labeling our products, we hold ourselves to a high standard because we believe that a natural cleaner should actually come from nature.

Great Cleaning Comes Naturally to Method!

When it comes to labeling our products, we hold ourselves to a high standard because we believe that a natural cleaner should actually come from nature.

What does the term "natural" mean when it's written on a method label?
It means that 100% of the functional ingredients in that product are either found in nature or derived from natural sources.

       What's a "functional ingredient"?
Any ingredient that makes our cleaners clean - things like soaps, detergents, solvents, enzymes or stabilizers. Why don't you call all your products natural?
Surprisingly, "natural" is still not a standardized or regulated term. So while we could, we won't call a product "natural" if even one of its functional ingredients isn't natural or naturally derived. When it comes to labeling our products, we hold ourselves to a high standard because we believe that a natural cleaner should tually come from natur.

What's the difference between a natural ingredient and a naturally derived one?
Natural ingredients are found in nature - they either grow in plants or are abundant minerals - and are not chemically altered (e.g., the aloe vera gel we use in our hand wash). Naturally derived ingredients are made from materials found in nature and converted into effective cleaners using safe, approved processes (e.
g., alkyl polyglucoside, a great cleaner made from coconut oil and starch that's totally safe and biodegrades, but it isn't found in nature...if it were, we'd have a big orchard of alkyl polyglucoside trees).

Why aren't all the ingredients natural or naturally derived?
We strive to use only natural or naturally derived ingredients, but if we can't find one that provides the efficacy we're looking for, we'll use a safe, green, man-made version instead. In all cases, we only use ingredients that have passed through a comprehensive green and health screen: ingredients we have confirmed to be totally safe for people and safe for the environment.

       How does method choose ingredients?
We assess ingredients across multiple factors of sustainability (we consider the past, present and future implications of each one), because natural is a starting point, not an endpoint. We've hired one of the best environmental scientists in the world, Dr. Michael Braungart, founder of the Environmental Protection and Encouragement Agency (epea.com), to perform detailed assessments of each ingredient and confirm whether it's safe to be used by people, and safe for release in the environment.

This ensures that every method product is:

      • Made from nature: from renewable and/or abundant natural resources
      • Green: sourced responsibly, almost always from a renewable resource, minimizes water and energy consumption, and safe when released into the environment after use
      • Safe today: non-toxic, non-irritating and non-hazardous
      • Safe tomorrow: have you heard the talk about gender-bending phthalates and bisphenol-A? It's some scary stuff, and these chemicals are often found in everyday items, like cleaning products. Our ingredient screen eliminates these chemicals, so it won't cause any issues down the road

      About Method

Meet Adam Lowry and Eric Ryan, proud brainparents of method and the very first people against dirty. Despite founding one of the fastest-growing private companies in America, and single-handedly turning the consumer-packaged-goods industry on its head, these two former roommates are quick to tell you that they’re no heroes. And that’s true. They’re super-heroes. And like every great superhero, they gained their powers after being exposed to toxic ingredients. Cleaning supplies, to be precise. But rather than turning them green or granting them the ability to talk to fish, Eric and Adam’s toxic exposure gave them something even better. An idea. Eric knew people wanted cleaning products they didn’t have to hide under their sinks. And Adam knew how to make them without any dirty ingredients. Their powers combined, they set out to save the world and create an entire line of home care products that were more powerful than a bottle of sodium hypochlorite. Gentler than a thousand puppy licks. Able to detox tall homes in a single afternoon.
