Although homeopathic substances listed in this article are generally not known to cause serious side effects, their effectiveness has not been demonstrated by scientific research. Consumers should check labels carefully, since a homeopathic product that is not diluted, or not diluted enough, may contain ingredients that cause allergic reactions, side effects, or interactions. It is always advisable to discuss any new treatment program with your healthcare practitioner.

Yeast infections are caused by the microorganism Candida albicans. This form of yeast is always present, but hormonal changes, fatigue and many other factors can temporarily lower the immune function and allow the yeast to proliferate. Vaginal yeast infections are a common problem for women—with itching, burning, redness and irritation, and a whitish or yellowish discharge. Homeopathic medicines relieve the discomfort and help the natural restoration of balance. If a vaginal infection lasts longer than a week, if it has an offensive-smelling discharge, or if it is accompanied by fever and a deeper feeling of illness, or if it is a woman's first yeast infection, it is best to see a physician.
